DID YOU KNOW? National Aquatic Animal

India has a National Aquatic Animal – it is the River Dolphin.

It is also said to represent the purity of the holy Ganges as it can only survive in pure and fresh water. It is found in parts of Ganges, Meghna & Brahmaputra rivers in India (and in Nepal, Bhutan and Bangaldesh).

And surprisingly the River Dolphin is a critically endangered species in India and has been included in the Wildlife (Protection) Act.
